About Me

After twenty-two years as a Nutritionist in UK, practising Functional Medicine, I now live in the Swiss Alps in the Bernese Oberland, enjoying a second career writing books - non-fiction health books, short story collections for adults, and children’s chapter books for 8-10 yr olds. There are further ideas on the way, but first things first . . .

I live in the most spectacular setting – 1200 meters above the sparkling sapphire blue waters of Lake Thun, around the corner from the aquamarine waters of Lake Brienz and facing the famous trio of alpine peaks: The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. This is the longest ribbon village in Europe wrapped around the Niederhorn mountain. Long hours of sunshine in what is called the sun terrace of Switzerland, local flora and fauna, alpine meadows strewn with herbs and flowers make a stunning backdrop.

The reason I am keen to write fantasy tales for children based on myths, legends and true locations, is to encourage young children to enjoy exciting stories in different traditions, settings and cultures. All the stories I have written connect with locations in the Bernese Oberland and around Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

I hope tourists will be inspired to visit the region and experience stunning scenery and unique cultural events. Visiting Beatenberg a family can hike trails where some of the mystical stories take place, down on the lakes and in the surrounding mountains.

I hope children will enjoy my magical adventure tales as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
